On Friday, September 20, the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation welcomed 13 Cricket Collective winners to Edgbaston to receive their awards from Gavin Larsen, Warwickshire County Cricket Club’s former Performance Director.
The Cricket Collective Awards celebrate volunteers who go above and beyond to help make cricket happen. Without these individuals, cricket would not function as it does at these clubs.
The Lifetime Achiever award is given to an individual who has given many years of service to a cricket club or community group.
Mark Davison of Leamington Cricket Club received an award for his long-standing commitment to improving the club.
Mark Davison’s father collected the award on his behalf at the lunch.
Having been involved in cricket administration at Leamington for over 20 years, Mark recently stepped down as Head of Youth Cricket in September.
He began his journey in 2004 by running the under 10 team and took over the management of the entire youth section the following year, all while working as a senior police officer with demanding shift hours.
During his time at Leamington, he has established an academy that provides targeted coaching for a select group of 26 of the club’s most talented young players.
Over the years, Mark has helped to secure over £100,000 in grants for the club’s various capital projects.
Although Mark has stepped down, he will continue to be part of Leamington Cricket Club’s main committee and plans to stay involved with grants, sponsorship, and managing the under 14 and under 15 teams.
The Warwickshire Cricket Foundation wishes to thank Mark for his dedication to Leamington over the years.
