As the cricket season approaches in just a couple of months, we are preparing for another year filled with high volumes of activity.
Last September, we began the process of relaunching the Grounds Association in Warwickshire and Birmingham.
We will be hosting a Grounds Morning at the Edgbaston Community Ground (Portland Road) on Tuesday, March 18th, at 10:30 AM.
Warwickshire’s County Pitch Advisors, Jonathan Blakeman and Ashley Hill, will be present to discuss pre-season preparations and the challenges faced by grounds teams in the spring.
Local umpires will also be in attendance to explain pitch markings and what they look for when grading pitches.
Additionally, Andy Welsby from the Grounds Management Association will present the Pitch Power app, which has recently been introduced in cricket and is vital for applications to the Grass Pitch Improvement Fund.
Breakfast will be provided for all attendees.
To secure your place, contact Richard Evans, Club Development Officer.
