#GroundsWeek is the annual nationwide celebration organised by the Grounds Management Association to honor the dedicated professionals and volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain playing surfaces and green spaces.
This week is dedicated to highlighting the skills, expertise, and hard work of grounds staff, inspiring a greater appreciation for their invaluable contributions.
This #GroundsWeek, we want to show our appreciation to everyone in Warwickshire and Birmingham who has been involved in preparing cricket grounds.
At the end of last summer, we began relaunching Warwickshire’s Grounds Association and held a call inviting clubs to discuss grounds management and how the Foundation can support clubs in this area.
To celebrate Grounds Week, we are hosting a Grounds Morning at the Edgbaston Community Ground.
Various individuals will be in attendance to discuss the challenges of preparing cricket grounds. Those include Warwickshire’s County Pitch Advisors, Andy Welsby (GMA Regional Pitch Advisor for Cricket), Ged McDougall (ECB Regional Facilities Manager), and Rob Evans (Warwickshire Association of Cricket Officials), who will all share their insights on pitch preparation.
