Kings Heath will be transformed into a cricketing carnival at the end of this month when Warwickshire Cricket Foundation and Birmingham Phoenix unite to take over the York Road Recreation Ground.

The Foundation have combined with the Phoenix, whose Men’s and Women’s sides will return to Edgbaston for The Hundred later this summer, to offer sessions for young people of various ages and all cricket abilities, in a celebration of both grassroots sport and community.

The all-day event, which will take place on Sunday 28th June, is split up into sessions which vary depending on the young person’s level of experience and ability.

Our coaches are on hand throughout the whole day to ensure all participants can build up their cricket skills and have plenty of fun in a safe and supportive environment.

We are already fully booked for the All Stars session, which kicks things off at 10:00am, while the slot reserved for local primary school pupils is also fully booked.

There are, however, limited spaces remaining on the Dynamos sessions which are being laid on; between 11:00am and midday there will be a Dynamos Intros session. Places are also up for grabs between midday and 1:00pm for our Dynamos girls-only session. Places in either session are allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to enter your child into one of the sessions, fill out the relevant form by clicking here.

The conclusion of those specialist sessions isn’t the end of the fun, however – between 2:00pm and 4:30pm, there will also be a free ‘drop-in’ play session, where anyone in attendance can pick up a bat and ball and take part in the activities.

If you are in the Kings Heath area on Sunday 28th, make sure to head down to the York Road and join in the fun!
