The Warwickshire Cricket Foundation is offering an exciting opportunity for young children to play cricket on the outfield at Edgbaston Stadium.

Previously known as the Mayor’s Cup, the event has been renamed as a skills blast to attract a new audience, bringing people who have never played cricket before to a famous cricketing venue.

The event aims to bring together different generations and communities across the region, showcasing the West Midlands’ diversity and encouraging people of all ages to be active.

The session will take place on the Edgbaston Stadium outfield from 10am to 2pm and will involve batting, bowling, and fielding skills as well as games. No previous cricket experience is required.

Fidelis Navas, Community Director, said, “We’re so thrilled that the Mayor’s event is returning for a third year.”

“The day is usually brilliant and packed with an enjoyable atmosphere where everyone is supported regardless of their abilities.”

“Playing cricket on the outfield at Edgbaston is a fantastic opportunity for residents of local communities and the wider county to create memories together.”
