On Friday, September 20, the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation welcomed 13 Cricket Collective winners to Edgbaston to receive their awards from Gavin Larsen, Warwickshire County Cricket Club’s Performance Director.
The Cricket Collective Awards celebrate volunteers who go above and beyond to help make cricket happen. Without these individuals, cricket would not function as it does at these clubs.
The Safe Hands Award is given to an individual who has gone above and beyond to create a positive and inclusive environment for young people to enjoy the game.
Matt Chapman of Exhall and Wixford Cricket Club received the award last week for his dedication to maintaining the highest level of safeguarding at his club.
Richard Evans, Cricket Development Officer, said “Matt has taken his responsibilities and the Safe Hands Management System very seriously since its inception.”
“Since taking on his role with the Cotswold Hills League he has encouraged clubs in the league to embrace the Safe Hands system. He has also ensured that all clubs in the league meet a minimum standard by having a qualified club safeguarding officer in place.”
Congratulations to Matt for all of his efforts to keep Exhall and Wixford a safe, welcome, and enjoyable place to be.
