The board consists of 12 members who contribute a diverse range of skills, professional expertise, and personal experiences to the communities we serve in Warwickshire and Birmingham. We have established subcommittees focusing on the following areas: Women and Girls, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), Risk and Safeguarding, Recreational Clubs, and Finance and Fundraising.

Cath Muth

Chair

Cath is a marketing professional with extensive experience in the professional services sector across various industries. She has managed public relations and the website for Birchfield Harriers, the leading athletics club in the UK, bringing valuable knowledge to the Foundation. In November 2023, on behalf of Birchfield Harriers, Cath received a Runner-Up award for Community Project of the Year.

In her spare time, Cath coaches endurance athletes and is involved in the England Athletics National Coach Development Programme.

Stuart Cain

Trustee

Stuart is an experienced Chief Executive with a background in sports, entertainment, and multi-use venues. He was appointed Chief Executive of Warwickshire County Cricket Club in 2020. Additionally, he serves as a Director of Edgbaston Experience Limited and is a Trustee of the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation, the club’s official charity. Stuart has also contributed to various sports boards in a non-executive capacity and is a strong advocate for good governance in sports. He emphasizes the importance of diversity, transparency, and honesty at the board level.

Aaron Dunkley

Trustee

Aaron Dunkley is the Assistant Director of Community Impact and the Head of Trusts and Foundations at Altair Ltd. Since 2015, Aaron has been deeply involved in fundraising, particularly focusing on grant funding for socially minded organizations in the fields of sport-for-development, education, employment and training, and disability support. He serves as a trustee and assists in identifying funding opportunities that the Foundation can pursue to expand their outreach for cricket in Warwickshire and Birmingham.

Imogeen Denton

Trustee

Imogeen Denton serves as the Head of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion at Birmingham City University. She has over 20 years of experience working with marginalized communities, particularly those facing multiple layers of disadvantage. In her current role, she focuses on developing and implementing effective strategies to reduce inequality and promote social justice. Throughout her career, Imogeen has worked in local government, where she was involved in community planning, employment and skills initiatives, as well as housing and environmental projects.

Imogeen is an avid supporter of cricket and is passionate about outdoor sports, the environment, and the positive impact these have on physical and mental health. She is a member of the Midlands Committee for the Royal Yachting Association and has recently been appointed as a Regional Advisor to the National Trust. Furthermore, Imogeen proudly supports the Black Talent Awards.

Amil Khan

Trustee

Amil is a member of the Public Affairs team at the University of Birmingham, where he manages the University’s political engagement activities. He plays a key role in shaping the institution’s reputation and profile with significant stakeholders at national, international, and regional levels. In addition to his work at the University, Amil serves as a Trustee of United by 2022, the official legacy charity of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. He is also a member of the Board of the University Hospitals Birmingham Charity.

A passionate sports enthusiast and avid cricket fan, Amil was a Non-Executive Director of the Warwickshire Cricket Board for seven years before becoming a Trustee of the Foundation.

Norman Gascoigne

Trustee

Norman Gascoigne serves on the trustees panel for the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation, drawing from his extensive experience of chairing various panels. Earlier in his career, he spent 34 years working for the Royal Bank of Scotland in the Midlands and London, which has equipped him with a wealth of experience for his role as a business consultant. Norman was elected to the Warwickshire County Cricket Club committee in 2004 and became Vice Chairman in 2008.

He was appointed Chairman in 2010, during which he oversaw the club’s significant £32 million redevelopment of the South Stand. Recognizing the importance of effective engagement with the communities in Warwickshire and Birmingham, Norman played a key role in establishing the Edgbaston Foundation, the club’s official charity, which is now known as the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation.

Mark Axcell

Trustee

Mark Axcell is a Chief Executive working in the NHS, bringing over 30 years of experience across various sectors, including Primary Care, Secondary Care, Community, and Mental Health Services. Most of his career has been based in the Black Country. Mark is a qualified accountant and a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy.

Additionally, he has volunteered as a chair and trustee for several local charities. Outside of his professional responsibilities, Mark serves as Vice Chairman of his local cricket club, where he is actively involved, especially as both of his children play the sport. He is passionate about the positive impact that sports, particularly cricket, can have on an individual’s well-being and health.

Waheed Saleem

Trustee

Waheed possesses a unique combination of experience as both a senior executive and a non-executive director. His background showcases his ability to drive cultural change within complex organizations. Currently, he is part of the Senior Leadership Team, where he manages large projects and develops new partnerships. Waheed has been a member of the board of trustees since November 2020, bringing a distinctive skill set to the team.

Jade Lester

Trustee

Jade is an award-winning senior leader in Strategic Communications and Marketing, with more than two decades of experience. She currently serves as the Head of Communications and Social Impact at Above Ltd, where she leads all marketing and communications efforts, customer research, events, and social impact initiatives. Jade joined the trustee board in May 2023 and has been with the Foundation for a year and a half.

Louise Jones

Trustee

Louise has twenty-five years of experience in marketing and digital leadership roles. She has worked in various sectors, including Leisure, FMCG, and Health & Wellbeing, holding positions with well-known companies such as Tesco, Marks & Spencer, and Virgin. When she isn’t at Edgbaston watching cricket, Louise enjoys running, playing tennis, and paddle boarding. Louise was elected to the Board at the 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM), and her current term will conclude in 2026.

John Winspear

Trustee

John has been a dedicated member of the trustees for the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation since his appointment in March 2013. As a Chartered Accountant, he contributes valuable financial expertise to the organization. In 2022, John retired from his position on the Members’ Committee. Previously, he served on the Club’s General Committee and later on the Management Committee. Additionally, he was a member of the Cricket Audit Committee, which oversees the Club’s elite teams and high-performance structure.

Steve Currie

Trustee

Steve has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance, having worked at private equity and corporate advisory firms. He collaborates with financial sponsors and provides advice on fundraising. Currently, Steve is employed at Alantra, a global investment banking and asset management firm. In March 2024, Steve became a trustee of the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation upon its launch.
