On Monday, 4th November, we celebrated Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas at Edgbaston Stadium.

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, originates from the Indian subcontinent and is celebrated as a five-day long festival.

Diwali coincides with another celebration called Bandi Chhor Divas, which means the Day of Liberation of Prisoners. Sikhs commemorate the release of their sixth spiritual leader.

Warwickshire County Cricket Club and the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation celebrated by inviting county age group players and their families to the stadium to light candles and enjoy traditional food.

Staff members and their families were also invited to celebrate.

Stuart Cain, Chief Executive of Warwickshire County Cricket Club and trustee of the Foundation, closed the event with a few words for those in attendance.

We wish everyone a happy Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas, and we look forward to celebrating the event again next year.
