For the first time, the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation will host an exclusive women’s and girl’s celebration evening at Edgbaston Stadium.

In recent years, women’s and girls’ cricket has grown significantly, with a total of 49 clubs now providing offering opportunities.

The Foundation is dedicated to promoting female engagement in all aspects of our work, focusing on activities that specifically address the needs of women and girls.

It is important to celebrate not only the achievements of players on the field but also to recognise all the individuals who contribute to making cricket happen.

The evening will provide an opportunity to reflect on the past year or two and celebrate the successes of clubs, community projects, individuals, as well as the coaches and volunteers who support the game.

The Celebration Evening will take place on 28 February 2025, inviting everyone involved in cricket at clubs or in the community to attend (aged 16 and over).

Ten awards will be presented. More details about each award can be found by clicking here.

Throughout the night, there will be music from a live DJ, a buffet-style meal, and attendance from Bears Women players to inspire the next generation of cricketers.

Jess Ward, Women and Girl’s Community Manager, said “We are really excited to be hosting the first women and girls’ celebration evening at Edgbaston. It is important that we reward and give recognition for all the hard work everyone puts in for providing many opportunities for more women and girls to play cricket no matter their ability.”

“We will be bringing together those from clubs and community projects up and down the county to share their stories and celebrate their successes.”
