Last Friday, six schools gathered at the Edgbaston Indoor Centre to participate in the first round of the winter Table Cricket competition, in partnership with the Lord’s Taverners.
Approximately 60 students from six schools across Warwickshire and Birmingham participated.
Warwickshire Access players Dean Wattison, Philip Turton, Daniel Lamb and Kyran Loxton were on hand to assist with scoring and umpiring the games.
Nigel Perry-Ogden, Disability Development Officer, said “It’s honestly fantastic to have Dean, Phil, Lamby and Kyran helping out.”
“It’s great for the children to see players from Warwickshire Access giving back to the accessibility programs we run.”
“Dean is about to begin his role as a SEND Cricket Coach with us in the next couple of weeks. He will be delivering cricket sessions every day to different groups with various accessibility needs.”

After finishing in the top two, Fairfax Academy and Wilson Stuart School will go through to the regional finals which will also be held at Edgbaston on Monday 12th May.
Nigel Perry-Ogden, said “It was brilliant to see the skill, teamwork, and pure enjoyment from all eight schools throughout the day. Organizing Table Cricket festivals is always a rewarding experience, where children not only compete but also connect with each other, making new friends while enjoying this format of cricket.”
