We’re excited to launch new walking cricket sessions in Coventry for men aged 50 and over, offering an enjoyable and accessible way to stay active and connected through the sport.
Sessions are being delivered in partnership with The Bob Willis Fund, as part of a joint effort to raise awareness of prostate cancer and encourage men to stay active.
Walking cricket is a slower-paced, indoor adaptation of the traditional game, tailored for individuals who may find the standard format physically demanding.
Sessions will provide a relaxed, sociable environment where participants can stay engaged with cricket while reaping the physical and mental health benefits of regular activity.
The sessions, led by ACE Cricket Development Officer Leron Barker, are free and open to men over 50, aiming to attract a mix of returning cricket lovers and newcomers to the game.
The sessions will run every Wednesday from 2-3PM at the Coventry AT7 Centre, beginning on Wednesday 14th May.
Participants can sign up by following this link.
The partnership with The Bob Willis Fund, a charity established in memory of the former England cricketer who passed away from prostate cancer in 2019, ensures the sessions offer both recreational enjoyment and educational value.
