On Saturday, the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation proudly participated in the Birmingham Pride Parade, walking through the heart of the city alongside our friends from the Birmingham Unicorns.
On a vibrant and joyful day, staff from both the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation and Warwickshire County Cricket Club came together in Birmingham City Centre to proudly show their support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Founded in 2020, the Birmingham Unicorns are an inclusive LGBTQIA+ cricket club based in Birmingham.
They provide a welcoming space for cricket enthusiasts to play and connect, hosting a variety of friendly matches, including Sunday 40-over games and midweek T20 matches throughout the summer. You can learn more about them on their website.
With Pride Month approaching, which takes place from Sunday, 1st June to Monday 30th June, we will be celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community through a series of events and activities throughout the month.
On Friday 6th June, Warwickshire County Cricket Club will host the annual Rainbow Laces game, during which players will wear rainbow laces to show their support.
On Sunday 15th June, we will return to Sutton Coldfield Cricket Club for another year to host the LGBTQ+ cricket festival. This year, the festival will feature two formats designed to accommodate different levels of experience and skill.
We will also be hosting a cricket taster session at Edgbaston Stadium, which you can register for below.
