The Warwickshire Cricket Foundation runs programmes in schools aimed primarily at secondary school girls.

Warwickshire Cricket Foundation’s delivery in state secondary schools focusses on developing the leadership skills of young girls aged 11-16. Our coaches bring these skills to life in one-off taster sessions or in a dedicated leadership programme, typically over a half-term.

Warwickshire delivers two projects in secondary schools: girls’ leadership and street engagement days.

Over the years that we’ve run the secondary school girls programme, we’ve seen a rise in the number of girls becoming involved and participating in cricket. Last year, we introduced street engagement days to try to reach as many girls as possible and get them to play cricket.

Street Engagement Days

To help promote Warwickshire Cricket Foundation street hubs, we offer Street Engagement Days in secondary schools to highlight the benefits of street cricket.

We focus on locations that lack cricket activities outside of school, or disadvantaged communities where people may be unable to commit to joining a cricket club but would prefer a casual option to continue playing cricket. Street Engagements Days are one off days delivered by a WCF coach in a single day.

Secondary School Competitions

Warwickshire Cricket Foundation’s secondary competitions are open to all schools in Warwickshire, including state and independent. We offer many competitive opportunities to schools in both winter and summer months funded by the ECB and Chance to Shine.
