Warwickshire Cricket Foundation, in partnership with the Wesleyan Foundation, is targeting a group of 11-16-year-old females, offering a comprehensive approach to increase participation whilst introducing a variety of transferable life skills.

Sessions will be held at Concord Centre in Sparkbrook, where they are hoping to improve participation in their girls-only youth sessions.

The young females will participate in several weeks of cricket activities that will improve their fundamental movement skills while also allowing them to compete in small-sided games. Additionally, they will complete an 8-week leadership course that will cover cricket-specific skills including umpiring and scoring, as well as practical skills like confidence building through presenting.

To help with the programme’s running, we are going to prepare 5 female assistant coaches to assist with the programme’s head coach. They will complete several coaching certifications as well as mentoring sessions to ensure they have the necessary tools to continue their coaching journey.
