Girls Cricket

Softball cricket festivals offer a fantastic opportunity for newcomers to cricket who want to start playing matches with minimal equipment. These games are 8-a-side matches, each lasting 8 overs, where every player has the chance to bat, bowl, and field. The focus of these festivals is on participation rather than competition. During the winter, we aim to organise Indoor Leagues. In the summer, we hold Softball Festivals for ages U11 and U13 and run Hardball Leagues for U13 and U15 age groups.

Our softball and hardball leagues are designed for clubs that have enough girls to regularly participate in weekly matches against other clubs of a similar skill level. This offers girls with some experience in cricket an opportunity to join a more competitive environment and make the transition to hardball cricket.

In 2023, we launched the first Girls Development Centre Programme. Click here to read about the progress made over the last two years.

Women’s Cricket

These games are 8-a-side matches, each lasting 8 overs, where every player has the chance to bat, bowl, and field. Our newest competition is the Hundred Softball Competition, with clubs across the county compete in Hundred format style softball cricket matches with a finals day held to decide the overall winners.

For those seeking a smooth transition to regular competitive hardball cricket, the West Midlands Counties League provides clubs who have been playing hardball cricket an opportunity to play longer formats of cricket without jumping to the West Midlands Women’s Cricket League, which often has a high number of county and experienced cricket players. The Foundation partners with the West Midlands Women’s Cricket League, who provide a 3-tiered league with 40/45 over league cricket for more experienced and competitive cricketers.
