We recently hosted a special evening dedicated to celebrating women and girls in recreational and community cricket.

It was an incredible occasion to reflect on the passion, talent, and achievements that have shaped the sport at both the grassroots level and beyond.

The event brought together players, coaches, supporters, and fans to honour the hard work and dedication of women in cricket. From inspiring stories to heartfelt speeches, the evening celebrated how far the game has come and the exciting future that lies ahead.

We are committed to promoting female engagement in all aspects of our work, focusing on activities that specifically address the needs of women and girls.

We aim to recognise the players, coaches, supporters, and volunteers involved in women’s and girls’ sports, celebrating the inspiring stories from across Warwickshire and Birmingham.

The evening began with a welcome address from Cath Muth, Chair of the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation. Gabby Basketter (Women’s and Girl’s Club Development Officer Jess Ward (Women’s and Girl’s Community Manager), and Fidelis Navas (Community Director) presented awards.

Guests enjoyed a heads and tails game, a two-course buffet, and a raffle following dinner.

We successfully raised over £390 through the raffle, which will help towards funding equipment, coaching, and facilities for women’s and girls’ activities run by the Foundation.

Congratulations on organising a wonderful evening highlighting all the hard work of volunteers. You create such a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment and should be proud of that.

Firstly, thank you for arranging and hosting a fantastic celebration evening at Edgbaston – please do pass on our gratitude to everyone involved.
