Warwickshire Cricket Foundation delivered a packed programme of cricket activity this Ramadan, with a late-night league for young adults and dedicated opportunities for women and girls to get involved in the game.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Across the holy month, the Foundation hosted its Ramadan Midnight League alongside Women\u2019s and Girls\u2019 Ramadan Taster Sessions, providing opportunities for participants to stay active and enjoy cricket in a welcoming environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ramadan Midnight League Lights Up Edgbaston Indoor School in Its Sixth Year<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Ramadan Midnight League took place at the Edgbaston Indoor School as part of the Foundation’s Chance to Shine offer, with around 40 young adults aged 16-24 taking part across five teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delivered across six nights throughout Ramadan, matches were played from 10pm to midnight, giving participants the chance to compete after breaking their fast in a unique late-night setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The league offered a competitive and engaging 20-ball format, with players representing their teams while building connections and spending time together during Ramadan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funded by Chance to Shine and organised by the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation, the programme supported young people to access cricket in a safe and inclusive space whilst observing Ramadan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a closely contested final, Ramadan Knight Riders were crowned champions after defeating Warriors to lift the title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Women and Girls Take Their First Steps into Cricket<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Alongside the league, Warwickshire Cricket Foundation hosted two Women and Girls\u2019 Ramadan Taster Sessions on Sunday\u00a015th\u00a0March at the Edgbaston Stadium Exhibition Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around 30 participants aged 8+ attended across the two sessions, which were designed to provide a welcoming introduction to cricket. The sessions were led by an all women, Muslim coaching team who have received their qualifications through the Foundation and are currently working across our community programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One session focused specifically on complete beginners, helping to remove barriers to entry and encourage more women and girls to try the game for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sessions placed a strong emphasis on fun, confidence-building and creating a supportive environment, ensuring participants of all abilities felt comfortable getting involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nailah Sarwar, Dynamos Intros Ambassador, said: \u201cBeing part of the first Women and Girls cricket event targeted at those celebrating Ramadan has been a wonderful milestone for our community. It\u2019s a chance to celebrate participation and empowerment through sport at a time that already brings us closer. Hopefully this can continue in future years.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together, the Ramadan League and Women and Girls\u2019 sessions highlight Warwickshire Cricket Foundation\u2019s ongoing commitment to making cricket accessible to all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By adapting delivery to suit the needs of participants during Ramadan, the Foundation continues to provide meaningful opportunities for people to engage with the game and stay active during an important time of year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
