What is a Major Match?

A Major Match is all International fixtures, ICC or global event and Vitality Blast Finals Day.

In 2022, we have the following Major Matches scheduled:

  • England v India, Test Match – Friday 1 –  Tuesday 5 July – Day 1, 2 and 3 SOLD OUT
  • England v India, IT20 – Saturday 9 July – SOLD OUT
  • Vitality Blast Finals Day – Saturday 16 July – SOLD OUT
  • Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games (Women’s T20) – 29 July – 7 August

When will my match tickets arrive?

If you’ve selected a ticket in the post, these will be posted at least two weeks prior to the match. If you’ve not received your ticket a week before your fixture, please contact the Ticket Office on tickets@edgbaston.com or call 0121 369 1994 (9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday).

If you’ve selected a free e-ticket, you will be notified when this is in the Edgbaston App or available to download from our online account.

How old do you need to be to have a ticket?

Anyone over the age of 2 must have a valid ticket to gain entry to the ground on any domestic or Major Match. Anyone under the age of 2 is free of charge, as long as they do not require a seat.

Young people under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult (who will be over the age of 18) when entering the stadium, at all times while in the stadium and when leaving the stadium.

Can I get a refund if the match is effected by bad weather?

If a match is cancelled or shorted due to inclement weather or for health and safety reasons, ticket buyers will be entitled to a full or partial refund. Please note, booking fees are non-refundable.

Test Match

For days 1 to 4 of the Test match: If we are unable to admit spectators OR play does not take place OR play is restricted, you will be entitled to a refund of only the match ticket value subject to there being: (a) non admittance of spectators OR zero to 15 overs played – a full refund; (b) 15.1 overs to 30 overs played – a 50% refund.  In no other circumstances can money be refunded.

An option of credit or refund will be available. Refunds will be made by Warwickshire County Cricket Club to the original purchaser only, either by refunding his or her debit or credit card or by sending a cheque.

This refund policy does not apply to day 5 of Test matches.

 

ODI

If we are unable to admit spectators OR play does not take place OR play is restricted, you will be entitled to a refund option of only the match ticket value subject to there being: (a) non admittance of spectators OR zero to 15 overs played and no result is obtained – a full refund; (b) 15.1 overs to 30 overs played and no result is obtained – a 50% refund. In no other circumstances can money be refunded.

An option of credit or refund will be available. Refunds will be made by Warwickshire County Cricket Club to the original purchaser only, either by refunding his or her debit or credit card or by sending a cheque.

 

IT20

If we are unable to admit spectators OR play does not take place OR play is restricted, you will be entitled to a refund option of only the match ticket value subject to there being: (a) non admittance of spectators OR zero to 10 overs are played of the only or last match of the day and no result is obtained – a full refund; (b) 10.1 overs to 20 overs are played of the only or last match of the day and no result is obtained – a 50% refund.  In no other circumstances can money be refunded.

An option of credit or refund will be available. Refunds will be made by Warwickshire County Cricket Club to the original purchaser only, either by refunding his or her debit or credit card or by sending a cheque.

 

Vitality Blast Finals Day

If we are unable to admit spectators OR play does not take place OR play is restricted, you will be entitled to a refund option of the match ticket value only subject to the below: (a) non admittance of spectators – a full refund; (b) if the second semi-final does not achieve a result – a full 100%; (b) if both semi-final matches do achieve a result but (i) there are zero to 10 overs played of the T20 Final (the last scheduled match of the day) AND (ii) no result is obtained in the T20 Final – a 50% refund.  In no other circumstances can money be refunded.

An option of credit or refund will be available. Refunds will be made by Warwickshire County Cricket Club to the original purchaser only, either by refunding his or her debit or credit card or by sending a cheque.

 

Birmingham Bears – Group Stages

If play is restricted to 9.5 overs or less and no result is obtained, then you will be entitled to a full refund on your ticket. Booking fees are non-refundable.

 

The Hundred

In the event of cancellation or curtailment of play due to adverse weather, the Ticket Purchaser will be entitled to claim a refund if there is no result in one or both matches.

  1. Double-Header Match Day: if 100 balls or less are bowled in respect of both matches on the day for which the Ticket is valid and no result is obtained in respect of both matches, an automatic full (100%) refund of the amount paid for the Ticket will be made to the original credit or debit card.
  2. Double-Header Match Day: if 100 balls or less are bowled in respect of one of the two matches on the day for which the Ticket is valid and no result obtained in respect of such match, an automatic partial refund equal to 50% of the amount paid for the Ticket will be made to the original credit or debit card.

What accessibility facilities are available for spectators?

At Edgbaston we pride ourselves on being able to offer world-class facilities that are accessible to everyone.

Around the ground there are a number of wheelchair user areas, which are located within the stands ensuring that fans are still a part of the fantastic Edgbaston atmosphere. The stadium is also accessibility friendly with a host of lifts, ramps and staircases around the ground. Additionally on match days our stewarding team are available to provide assistance and direction for all fans.

Seats

We have wheelchair access seating in the West Upper, South Lower and Eric Hollies. There are also a selection of seats on the Skyline and in our two Members areas; the Tom Dollery Lounge and the David Heath Suite.

 

Parking

A limited number of disabled parking spaces are available on-site at Edgbaston Stadium. We encourage anyone seeking to purchase disabled parking to do so as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Multifaith Room

Multifaith Rooms are available in the South Stand on the first floor, next to the 501* Lounge, and behind the Selco Builders Warehouse Family Stand.

Speak to one of our friendly stewards who can help direct you to one of the room.

 

Sensory Rooms

Sensory Rooms are available for children and adults with sensory processing issues to attend a match in a calm environment at Edgbaston Stadium.

The specially designed spaces are located in the South Stand and in the RES Wyatt Stand.

What proof of eligibility do you accept when purchasing accessible seating tickets?

If you wish to book accessible seating tickets, we may ask for proof of eligibility. We accept the following:

  • Receipt of the higher or middle rate of Disability Living Allowance (mobility and/or care component).
  • Receipt of standard or enhanced rate of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) for mobility, and/or enhanced rate of PIP for care.
  • Receipt of either Severe Disablement Allowance or Attendance Allowance.
  • War Pensioners’ Mobility Allowance or War or Service Disablement pension for 80% or more disability.
  • Blind or partially sighted registration certificate (BD8 or CV1 certificate) or evidence from an eye specialist, for example an optometrist, that the individual would qualify to be registered as severely sight impaired (blind) or sigh impaired (partially sighted).

Please note that receipt of a Blue Badge will not be considered as eligibility for booking tickets.

Is there a Family Stand at Edgbaston?

Yes, the Family Stand is located in Blocks 1-3. The family-friendly stand, which is alcohol-free, is open on all match days.

No alcohol is allowed to be consumed when seated in the Blocks 1-3 and this will be monitored by stewards on match days.

Behind this stand, concessions will be serving family-friendly food and drink and no alcohol will be served.

If you have tickets for the Family Stand and wish to purchase alcohol, you may do so at concessions located around the ground, but you will not be allowed entry into the Family Stand with alcohol.

 

How do I sell tickets on the Ticket Exchange re-sale platform?

Edgbaston has launched an official Ticket Exchange re-sale platform to allow ticket buyers who can no longer attend a Major Match to sell their tickets, at no charge, to other supporters.

It’s easy to sell tickets via the platform. Follow the step-by-step guide below:

  1. Log-in to your online ticket account at tickets.edgbaston.com
  2. On My Homepage, scroll down and click on View Tickets
  3. Find the tickets you want to re-sell and follow the instructions on screen

Please note, tickets can only be sold at face value or less.

Once tickets have been sold on the re-sale platform, you can no longer access these tickets and you will automatically receive a refund back to your original payment method (please allow 3-5 working days). If your card is no longer valid, your refund will appear as credit on your account and you can contact us to organise alternative payment back to you.

If you have listed tickets on to the Ticket Exchange and change your mind, you can re-claim your tickets if they haven’t already been sold via your account.

Can I purchase Car Parking?

Yes, Car Parking for Major Matches, The Hundred and Birmingham Bears fixtures will be available to purchase at parkthecarhere.com/edgbaston. Prices will vary depending on fixture.

Parking will be available at sites located near Edgbaston:

Red Car Park – Cannon Hill Park (B29 7ES)
Pink Car Park – Moseley Ashfield Cricket Club (B13 8NQ)

On-site car parking will be available for Blue Badge holders and for domestic games for Car Park Pass holders and Executive Members.

All car parking is subject to availability. We encourage ticket buyers who wish to purchase car parking to do so as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

There is no taxi rank on all match days. Spectators are advised to meet any taxis a short walk from the stadium to avoid congestion. Thank you for your cooperation.

 

Automatic Number Plate Recognition

To speed up entry into our car parks and improve the spectator experience, we use an automatic number plate recognition system (ANPR) for all prepaid parking on Major Matches. This will be operated by our official traffic management partner, Park-Live.

  • Process you into our parking area more quickly
  • Improve the safety and security of your vehicle
  • Provide a seamless experience to re-book your parking with us in the future

When you purchase your car parking, you will be asked to add your number plate. This will then give you access to the car park on the day. Please take care when entering your number plate.

 

Road Closure

Edgbaston Road will be subject to road closures at Major Matches and other selected match days. The road will close two hours before the scheduled start of play and after play finishes for 90 mins.

What is the best way to travel if I want to leave my car at home?

Birmingham has great public transport links and we strongly recommend that you consider public transport so that you can make the most of your day with us.

Rail

Birmingham New Street Station is the main rail hub for the city with connections from all over the country. There are regular trains to Manchester and London, with a journey time under 90 minutes.

We recommend that you book your tickets in advance.

 

Shuttle Bus

Shuttle Bus service will be available for all Major Matches. It will also run on selected Birmingham Bears fixtures (excluding Sunday fixtures), please check the match Spectator Guide for details.

The 501 Shuttle Bus pick-up point is located from right outside New Street Station on Smallbrook Queensway (opposite TK Maxx and close to the Bullring). Buses will be running back from the stadium to the city centre after the close of play.

A return journey on the shuttle bus service is available for just £5 for adults and £3.50 for children. You can purchase on the day from the driver.

 

Public Buses

There are regular local buses to the ground from south-west Birmingham and the city centre. National Express buses 45 and 47 have services between the city centre and Pershore Road which is a 2-minute walk to the ground.

Can I bring food and drink into the ground?

Yes, spectators can bring in their own food and drink subject to the following restrictions:

 

LV= Insurance County Championship and One Day Cup

Spectators are allowed to bring their own food and drink into the stadium, excluding glass bottles.

We ask that you avoid bringing in large bags, if at all possible.

 

International, Vitality Blast Finals Day, Vitality Blast and The Hundred

No alcohol is allowed into the ground for international matches, Vitality Blast Finals Day, Vitality Blast and The Hundred.

As you would expect, we will have a thorough safety and security operation in place when you arrive and bags will be searched. Please avoid bringing bags, if at all possible.

There are some items you can’t bring into the ground;

  • No alcohol.
  • No glass bottles.
  • Spectators can bring in their own food and drink subject to the above restrictions.
  • No fireworks or flares.
  • No weapons, firearms or any other items considered dangerous.
  • Flags, Banners, or other signs that are offensive, racist, or commercially or politically motivated.
  • No instruments, whistles or horns, unless agreed in advance.

This policy helps to ensure the safety and comfort of spectators in attendance at Edgbaston on our busier match days.

Can I get a message on the big screen during a game?

Edgbaston do not operate the display of media or control the broadcast of announcements at any Major Match or ICC event. Fans are encouraged to interact with big screen content, but specific messages cannot be facilitated by the venue.

Emergency notifications should be relayed to your nearest steward who will endeavour to communicate through the most efficient and effective sources.

At Birmingham Bears matches, we will from time-to-time display social media messages on the big screen. If you wish to get a message on the screen, send us a tweet on Twitter during the match using the hashtag #YouBears. Not all messages will be displayed.
