With the 2026 Vitality Blast starting two days prior, Sunday 24 May represents the first opportunity for Bears’ fans to see both the men’s and women’s teams in action at EdgBLASTon, with a huge double header against Somerset. The Women begin the day at 11.30am, before the Men get underway at 3.30pm.
Beyond on-field performances, Blast Off continues to represent a major moment for the Club, our membership and wider fanbase. The season opener has become a signature occasion within the domestic cricket calendar, combining elite T20 action with a vibrant matchday experience. It sets the competitive and cultural tone for the months ahead, and this year will be no different.
With astute additions to both the men’s and women’s squads over the winter months, the Bears are set for an assault on the Vitality Blast in 2026 and with a season that weaves through May and June before culminating in Finals Day in July, it’s a format not to be missed.
As we enter the 100-day countdown to action beginning, preparations intensify. New dynamics have been forged within the dressing room, and the playing group looks forward to the opportunity to set a positive early marker against a quality Somerset side, who won the men’s competition last year.
We look forward to welcoming our supporters back for what promises to be another memorable summer of Vitality Blast cricket at Edgbaston.
