Aldridge Cricket Club were the recipients of a £1,000 sponsorship from Club partner Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care after winning top prize in our Club Together initiative.

The South Staffordshire club, who have five adult teams and a thriving junior section, also received a coaching session from Bears batter Rob Yates during an indoor training session.

Starting last season, sports clubs were able to purchase tickets for Vitality Blast fixtures at a discounted rate, whilst earning a chance to win a whole host of prizes.

Once the T20 season concluded, a draw for the top prize took place which included any club who sold over 20 tickets, with Aldridge being the lucky winners of the £1,000 sponsorship from Scrivens.

Aldridge CC Coach Tom Davies said: “We’re delighted to have won this prestigious prize and we’ll now be using the money towards installing an artificial surface at our club.

“By doing this, we hope to increase participation within the club, as well as the wider community, as local schools, groups and clubs will have access to it.

“Our winter nets for the junior section allows our under 9s to under 14s to continue participation within the sport, whilst preparing them for the season ahead.

“A lot of our youngsters aspire to play cricket for Warwickshire, so we owe a huge thank you to Rob Yates, who was not only fantastic in coaching, but inspiring these excited cricketers.”

Adrian Ellis, Operations Director of Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care, said: “Scrivens has a long association with Warwickshire Cricket Club. We are keen to encourage interest and participation in the game among young people and at clubs in the community. We are pleased the prize will make a big difference to Aldridge Cricket Club and wish them well for the future.”
