Warwickshire's Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes have been named in the England XI for the third LV= Insurance Men's Ashes Test starting at Headingley on Thursday 6 July.

As part of three changes from the team that lost at Lord’s last week. Ali, Woakes and Mark Wood replace James Anderson and Josh Tongue, who are rested and Ollie Pope is out of the rest of the series after dislocating his right shoulder at Lord’s.

Woakes returns to the Test side for the first time since March 2022, hoping to add to his 130 Test wickets. Ali, meanwhile, has recovered from a blister injury and is just two dismissals shy of 200 Test wickets.
