Jones recognised for helping England Women to the final of the recent ICC Women’s World T20

Warwickshire & Birmingham Bears wicket-keeper/bat Amy Jones has been named Sky Sports News Sportswoman of the Month for November after helping England Women to the final of the recent ICC Women’s World T20.

Jones, who came through the club’s Academy and Player Pathway, was Player of the Match in England’s eight wicket victory in the semi-final versus India, scoring 53 not out off 47 balls. Overall, she scored 107 runs in the tournament at an average of 53.5 and took four catches with one stumping.

At only 25-years-old, Amy could achieve a huge amount in the domestic and international game around the world.

The ICC Women’s World T20 has come for Jones after a strong year in ODI cricket, where she has scored three half centuries, including 94 against India in Nagpur in April.

Following the ICC World T20, Jones has now travelled to Australia to join up with Women’s Big Bash franchise Perth Scorchers, with the tournament taking place across December and January.
