Some of the biggest names in world cricket will be on show at Edgbaston next summer when India Men and Women arrive in Birmingham to take on England.

The ECB have confirmed their international fixture schedule for 2025. It includes a mouthwatering England v India Rothesay Men’s Test Match at Edgbaston – the second of five Tests – from Wednesday 2 to Sunday 6 July.

It’s one of the highest profile games in the international cricket calendar and demand for tickets is expected to be extremely high.

India Women are also set to visit Birmingham for the first time on Saturday 12 July, when they take on England in a fixture that saw record crowds in England back in 2022.

And Edgbaston’s 2025 international calendar starts on Thursday 29 May with a day/night game (1pm start) under floodlights against the West Indies.

Fans can now register for the best chance to get access to tickets at edgbaston.com/ballot. The Ballot opens today (22 Aug) and closes on 24 September.

India Men will again be led by cricketing superstar Virat Kohli – who hit his first Test century in England at Edgbaston in 2018 – alongside explosive bowler Jasprit Bumrah and prolific batter Rishabh Pant.

The last time England faced India at Edgbaston in July 2022 the two sides served up a Test Match for the ages.

Rishabh Pant (146) and Ravindra Jadeja (104) set India on course for victory. But Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow had other ideas as both hit second innings centuries as England chased down a record 378 to win.

Edgbaston’s 2025 international calendar gets underway on Thursday 29 May with a Metro Bank Men’s ODI against the West Indies.

Windies captain Shai Hope – who’s scored more than 5,000 ODI runs – is again expected to skipper a side that features one of the world’s fastest bowlers in Alzarri Joseph.

Demand is set to sky-rocket for the Vitality Women’s IT20, a game that will bring together two of the top four international women’s sides.

India’s Smritti Mandhana – who captained Royal Challengers Bengaluru to the Women’s Premier League title in India this year – and her teammates will provide a stern examination of Heather Knight’s England.

Chief Executive, Stuart Cain said: “2025 is going to be a massive year at Edgbaston and there is no better place to watch England. The atmosphere at Edgbaston is just different to anywhere else on the international circuit.

“There’s always a buzz around Birmingham when the India Men and Women’s teams are in town and the Test Match and Women’s IT20 will be fantastic occasions.

“It all starts with the West Indies on 29 May. It’s a day-nighter under the lights which always make the game extra special

“With the early announcement of these fixtures fans can start making plans for another exciting year of men’s and women’s international cricket at Edgbaston.”
