New Bowling Coach Stuart Barnes is determined to add to Warwickshire's success.

The 52-year-old – who has already started working with the bowlers in the indoor school – arrives with an impressive CV with more than 20 years’ professional coaching experience at all levels from Club Youth Cricket, to professional cricket and World Cups.

“It feels really good,” said Barnes. “I’m looking forward to working with the lads, certainly those that get back from overseas.

“It’s a place that I’ve really enjoyed coming to when I’ve worked with some opponents. You just look at the place. It oozes class, history, and success. I’m really looking forward to playing a part in the future successes.”

Barnes arrives following a spell at Surrey having previously worked in Bowling and Assistant Coach roles with Gloucestershire and Somerset.

He’s previously worked with Chris Woakes during an England Lions tour of the West Indies and was at Gloucestershire during Liam Norwell and Craig Miles’ early careers.

“I consider myself very fortunate and I’m very grateful for the experiences I’ve had,” added Barnes.

“Gloucestershire is where I kind of layed the foundations for my coaching experience and there were some overseas trips. Bangladesh was one in particular, before I moved to Surrey and Ireland to work alongside Graeme Ford.

“I kind offer a real mix of standards and expectations which kind of brings me here already. I’m looking forward to tapping into everything I’ve learned as a coach and using that experience here.”
