The Warwickshire CCC and Wasps RFC Academies continued their successful partnership recently with a full day of activities and workshops, before enjoying the NatWest T20 Blast fixture at Edgbaston vs Nottinghamshire Outlaws.

The day included strongman (see photo) and mini-golf challenges, a pairs cricket match between the two clubs (Warwickshire won to save any embarrassment!) and two sport science workshops focusing on mental skills and diet / nutrition. Paul Greetham, Elite Cricket Development Manager at WCCC said ‘These opportunities offer both clubs the chance to come out of the normal training routine, share good practice and mix the two professional environments.

“We decided to focus on S&C and sport science and its impact on performance this time round – and it was great that both sets of young players were able to share their own experiences with each other during the day.’ Warwickshire will visit Wasps before the end of the year with Wasps now full time in the county at their Coventry training base.
