Warwickshire legends Andy Lloyd and Paul Smith were invited to present new Captain Will Rhodes and Olly Stone with their Warwickshire cap before play started on day one of the Bears opening Bob Willis Trophy fixture against Northamptonshire.
“What it meant to me was that I wasn’t necessarily on equal terms with people who were capped but the people who inspired me when I was young were all First Team capped so to get one meant a lot.” said Paul Smith.
“Both Paul and I only played for one club,” Lloyd added.
“That club was Warwickshire for as long as we live and breath. Warwickshire will be our club.”
