Birmingham Bears and Worcestershire Rapids fans have the chance to name a new trophy that the West Midlands rivals will contest at each NatWest T20 Blast fixture.

Members and supporters of both teams have the chance to submit names before Friday 13 May on www.birminghambears.com. The fan that picks the chosen name will then have the chance to present the new trophy to the winners of the first NatWest T20 Blast meeting between the Bears and the Rapids at Edgbaston on Friday 27 May.

Ian Bell, Captain of Birmingham Bears, said: “As a Bears fan growing up I came to several matches against Worcestershire, and it’s arguably the biggest rivalry in domestic cricket.

“Our NatWest T20 Blast meetings get great attendances and there’s always a fantastic atmosphere. As if bragging rights and group points weren’t enough, we now have the prestige of the new trophy, which we hope to lift for the first time at Edgbaston on 27 May.”

Birmingham Bears’ match with Worcestershire Rapids is the first of seven NatWest T20 Blast games at Edgbaston with five being played on Fridays and two on Sundays. Tickets are priced at £19 in advance (£23 on the gate) and available to buy by clicking here.
