Bears Red Ball Showcase fixture comes to Edgbaston

Warwickshire is celebrating the rich tradition of County Cricket – and inspiring a new generation of red-ball fans – with the first ever Bears Red Ball Showcase at Edgbaston.

The showcase will run throughout the four days of the Rothesay County Championship Division One game against Hampshire from Friday 16 to Monday 19 May.

The fixture aims to champion the best of red-ball cricket and attract new fans to enjoy the County Championship format, while the Club is calling on Members to get behind the Bears and invite friends and family to join them for the match which has thrown up some classic encounters in recent years.

Across the four days will see a number of activities take place including a schools day and coaching sessions for U16s, free stadium tours, Q&As with Bears legends and more to be announced soon.

Warwickshire Members will receive an additional four free guest passes for the fixture to encourage them to bring guests along to enjoy the experience.

Head of Member Services, Dan Clarke said: “The Bears Red Ball Showcase is a fantastic opportunity for us to celebrate the rich tradition of red-ball cricket in Warwickshire as well as providing family-friendly activities across the four days.

“Our goal is to introduce new cricket fans to the format as well as encouraging all Bears to reconnect with our County Championship team. We will have plenty going on around the ground, from Q&As to free stadium tours.

“Plus there are several internationals set to be in action including our very own Dan Mousley and Sam Hain, also New Zealand Test captain Tom Latham.

“It promises to be a memorable few days of fun and cricket.”

Tickets for the Bears Red Ball Showcase are on sale now, with adults £15 (free on Day Three) and U16s free for all days. Warwickshire Members will have access to all days as part of their Membership package.
