Warwickshire County Cricket Club has signed Leicestershire right-arm seam-bowling all-rounder Ben Mike on a four-week loan, which covers the next three matches in the Specsavers County Championship.

The 20-year-old, who featured for Leicestershire against Warwickshire in the Specsavers County Championship match at the Fischer County Ground in September 2018, comes straight into the Bears squad for tomorrow’s fixture away to Kent.

He’s a good young prospect and several members of our coaching team were impressed with what he showed against us last season.

“With mounting injury concerns to our seam bowling ranks, we’re very grateful to Paul Nixon and Leicestershire for allowing Ben to join up with the squad at such short notice,” said Warwickshire’s Sport Director Paul Farbrace.

“He’s a good young prospect and several members of our coaching team were impressed with what he showed against us in the away Championship game against Leicestershire last season.

“Aged only 20, it’s great that we can play a part in his development as a cricketer, with three opportunities for him to feature for us in the Championship in coming weeks.”
