Bears players joined club members in filling boxes and bags full of gifts
Players from Warwickshire men’s and women’s squads recently showed support to Lead Charity Partner St Basils by making a Christmas visit to its Edgbaston centre on Gillott Road.
Following the recent launch of the charity’s Shoebox Appeal, Bears players joined club members in filling boxes and bags full of gifts, which will be donated to young people and families staying at St Basils centres across Birmingham and Warwickshire.
Our staff and Members gave very generously to St Basils Shoebox Appeal at Tuesday’s Christmas Carols Service , but this support was matched today by players from our men’s and women’s squad who delivered even more gifts.

Ravi Masih, Head of Community Engagement at Warwickshire CCC, said: “Christmas is a time when many families come together, which we take for granted. However, some experience much tougher times and St Basils and its staff do a fantastic job in helping so many young people in need.
“Our staff and Members gave very generously to St Basils Shoebox Appeal at Tuesday’s Christmas Carols Service at Edgbaston, but this support was matched today by players from our men’s and women’s squad who delivered even more gifts and spent time with the residents.
“St Basils is an excellent charity that makes a huge difference to the lives of young people and families who are at risk of homelessness.
“As our Lead Charity Partner, we’ve shown support throughout the year by volunteering in its kitchens, at Soup Week and staging the Edgbaston Sleepout, which raised more than £11,000 for the charity. Today has been a great way to end our 2018 campaign with the St Basils team and we’re looking forward to 2019.”
