Warwickshire County Cricket Club fast bowler Oliver Hannon-Dalby and batsman Matthew Lamb have both signed one-year contract extensions to remain Bears until at least the end of the 2018 season. Fast bowler Grant Thornton has also had his initial three-month contract extended until the end of the current season.
Olly has made a significant contribution to the team’s success in white ball cricket over the last four years, whilst also providing valuable support in the Championship.

Hannon-Dalby (28) joined the Bears from Yorkshire ahead of the 2013 season and has taken 146 wickets to date across all three formats. During this time, he was part of the Birmingham Bears team that won the NatWest T20 Blast in 2014 and the Warwickshire team that won the Royal London One-Day Cup in 2016.
Academy graduate Lamb (20) signed his first professional contract midway through the 2016 season, and made his First Class debut in September that year in the Specsavers County Championship match away to Somerset. He made his List A debut earlier this season and scored his maiden half century in First Class cricket in the recent Championship game at home to Middlesex.
It’s encouraging to see Matt score a half century in the recent game against Middlesex. His challenge now is to keep developing and to turn these innings into match-winning 100s.

Twenty-four year-old Thornton has had his initial three-month contract extended to the end of the current season after making his List A and First Class debuts for the Bears earlier this season.
Ashley Giles, Sport Director of Warwickshire CCC, said: “Olly has made a significant contribution to the team’s success in white ball cricket over the last four years, whilst also providing valuable support in the Championship. He’s a great character to have in the squad and we’re thrilled to secure his immediate future at Edgbaston.
“Matt earned his recent call-up to our Championship team after a series of impressive performances in the second XI. It’s encouraging to see him score a half century in the recent game against Middlesex. His challenge now is to keep developing and to turn these innings into match-winning 100s.
“Grant has made an encouraging start to his career in the professional game, having worked his way up from the club game in the last 12 months. He has been unlucky with injury in the last few weeks but now has an opportunity to fight for a place in the team.”
