Miles (24) made his First Class debut for Gloucestershire aged just 16 and he has gone on to take 229 wickets in 63 games, including 30 wickets in this year’s Specsavers County Championship at an average of 25.83. He has also taken 43 wickets in 35 List A games and 15 wickets in 13 T20 games.

“Just three weeks ago Craig showed what an exciting prospect he is, by taking five for 69 against us at Edgbaston,” said Warwickshire CCC Sport Director Ashley Giles.

“He consistently takes wickets but has also made notable contributions with the bat throughout his First Class career.

“Aged just 24, he has the opportunity to go far in the game if he continues his development and makes major contributions for Warwickshire and Birmingham Bears.”

Swindon-born Miles won selection on the ECB’s Potential England Performance Programme in the 2013/14 winter and was also selected for the England Performance Programme fast bowling camp following his performances in the 2015 season.

Craig Miles, said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining up with the squad at Edgbaston. I am aware of the talent and ambition within the squad and can’t wait to get started.”
