Dom Sibley's honesty was a rare insight into the mind of a hard-nosed cricketer.

When asked what it meant to win his first County Championship, the opener shared his views on the fantastic achievement.

“Being involved in England environments they talk about Championship wins and I’ve never had that,” Sibley stated with a grin. “I started to get a bit jealous.

“To come back and be able to do that is up there for me.”

The Bears eighth title and first since 2012 was met with adulation from players, Members and staff alike.

And as everyone flocked onto the outfield to immerse the celebrations we spoke with the guys who made it all happen.

Tim Bresnan

”It’s absolutely fantastic, it’s been a massive squad effort all year. I always believed in this team, and I’ve been believing for a good couple of months that we could do something special. We play for each other, we put in the hard yards.”

Danny Briggs

”Its as special as it can be, to call yourself a county champion. It’s something you want when you start out and now to be able to do it is amazing, this whole season has been amazing.”

Oliver Hannon-Dalby & Sam Hain

”Unbelievable day today, the atmosphere in this ground is really special. There has been guys contribute all year and some phenomenal event from these guys.”

Olly Hannon-Dalby

”This hasn’t sunk in yet, some people go through their careers without winning a championship so this is pretty special with this group of players from April. We had a goal and it’s a pretty special feeling out there, it’s a feeling that will stay with me for a long long time.”

Sam Hain

Craig Miles & Liam Norwell

”Pretty surreal feeling at the minute, it hasn’t quite settled in yet, but once the videos and posts come out it will feel a lot more real.”

Craig Miles

”It’s madness, I can’t get my head around it right now, we’ve put in a lot of hard yards this year, and we’ve taken games deep like today but the support has been incredible. It got us over the line. This is something that cannot be taken away from us, were county champions.”

Liam Norwell

Dom Sibley

“Looking around now you see everyone’s families and how much it means to people, it’s amazing. Being involved in England environments they talk about Championship wins and I’ve never had that and I started to get a bit jealous. To come back and be able to do that is up there for me.”

Chris Woakes

”Extremely special, that’s the best way to put it. Incredible effort, day four and the chance to win a county championship, pretty special. I love coming back to Warwickshire and playing for this great club. It was a no brainer to be a part of this week.”
