Birmingham Bears will start and finish the revised Central group of the 2020 Vitality Blast at Edgbaston.

The Bears start against Somerset on Friday 28 August and end the group campaign against the Steelbacks on Sunday 20 September in the new 10-match format of the Vitality Blast, which sees all 18 Clubs split across three groups of six.

The top two teams from each group and the two third placed teams with the most points will progress to the Quarter Finals and subsequently Finals Day for the winners at Edgbaston on Saturday 3 October.

With the expectation that all fixtures in the group stages will be played behind closed doors, the Bears matches at Edgbaston versus Somerset, Glamorgan, the Rapids and the Steelbacks will all be available to watch for free via the enhanced live stream at edgbaston.com.

The meeting at home to Gloucestershire will be played live on Sky Sports Cricket as part of the two-day programme of televised Central group fixtures.

Supporters are encouraged to create their own Bears Den at home during the Vitality Blast competition, as fans from around the country, and the world, show their support for the Bears from afar.

The Club will be launching new Bears Den packages on Store ’94 to help supporters to create their dens at home, while regular competitions will be run as fans are asked to send in their photos and videos from home with a chance to win some exclusive prizes. As part of today’s announcement, West Midlands Women’s Cricket Limited has also unveiled its Central Sparks team, which will compete in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy; the new regional women’s 50-over competition.

The Sparks will begin their campaign against Northern Diamonds at Edgbaston on Saturday 29 August and play six games in total, with ambitions of reaching the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy final on Saturday 26 September.
