The biggest Vitality Blast T20 fixture of the season takes place later this month at Edgbaston Stadium, as Warwickshire Bears take on Worcestershire Rapids on Friday 26 June.

As we build up to a huge double-header at The People’s Home of Cricket, with Bears Women playing Surrey at 3:00pm before the huge local derby gets under way at 7:00pm, we’re highlighting some of the key head-to-heads that could decide the fixture. Tickets are still available.

This week it’s the turn of two top-order batters: the Bears’ Sam Hain and former Warwickshire player and now Pears batter Adam Hose…

Sam Hain

Warwickshire’s number four has been ever-present in T20 cricket for the Bears since making his debut in the format back in 2016. He announced himself in his first game by scoring a match-winning, unbeaten 92 off 54 balls. In the period that has followed, he has over 5,000 runs in T20 cricket, averaging just under 40 in the process.

In recent years, Hain has been a thorn in the side of Worcestershire in this fixture. In the two games between the sides last season, the right-handed batter helped the Bears to two wins.

At Edgbaston, the Pears were restricted to 134 all out before Hain struck an unbeaten 38 off 30 balls to get the Bears over the line. In the reverse fixture, Hain topped the Bears scoring with 44, helping his side to a 23-run victory.

Adam Hose

Adam Hose spent five seasons at Warwickshire, from 2018 to 2022, before he signed for Worcestershire in 2023. While at Edgbaston, he scored almost 2,000 runs, including 557 in 2022 which remains his best season in the competition to date.

Since joining Worcester, he has continued to score runs, and throughout his career has amassed over 4,400 runs in the T20 format.

In this year’s campaign, Hose showcased his very best in Worcestershire’s win over Glamorgan at the start of June. His 50 off 31 balls was the highest score in the match, and made sure the Pears triumphed by 27 runs.
