Birmingham Bears’ Vitality Blast home match against Derbyshire Falcons will now start a day later than previously scheduled – on Wednesday 24 July.

We’re delighted to be able to add a new date to an already exciting Vitality Blast schedule

The decision to push back the fixture was centred around the Members and supporters with Wednesday’s proving to be a more popular day to watch Vitality Blast cricket at Edgbaston.

“I’d like to thank Derbyshire CCC, the ECB and Gary Barwell for their cooperation,” said, CEO of Warwickshire CCC, Neil Snowball.

“Wednesday night T20 matches at Edgbaston are always a fantastic occasion and we’re delighted to be able to add a new date to an already exciting Vitality Blast schedule.”

The Bears will play all games during the 2019 season within the school summer holidays and six of the seven home games at Edgbaston are scheduled on either Friday evenings or Sunday afternoons.

A local derby against the reigning tournament champions Worcestershire Royals kick-starts the campaign on Friday 19 July at Blackfinch New Road, before home matches against the Foxes and Falcons.

With Edgbaston hosting England’s first Test of the Specsavers Ashes Series against Australia, the Bears will play away games versus Northants Steelbacks, Notts Outlaws, Yorkshire Vikings and Foxes before returning to Edgbaston to Birmingham on the Outlaws on Friday 9 August.

The Bears take on the Rapids at Edgbaston at Edgbaston in the return match for the Norman Gifford Trophy on Friday 23 August, Bank Holiday weekend, and wrap up the group stages of the competition against the Vikings a week later on Friday 30 August.
