Bears’ batter Jacob Bethell has returned from his IPL spell with Royal Challengers Bengaluru after sustaining a finger injury.

He suffered the injury during RCB’s away game against the Punjab Kings at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala and will return to England for further assessment.

The 22-year-old played seven matches for RCB during the 2026 IPL season, scoring 96 runs after replacing Phil Salt at the top of the order, and taking several remarkable catches as his side surged to the top of the table.

He was recently named in the England Test squad for the first test against New Zealand, taking place at Lord’s from June 4.
