Complete Cricket “Player of the Week” – Great all round performance from Warrick Fynn of Oswestry in Division Two who scored 173 from 146 balls and took 3-43.

In the Birmingham Leaguie Division One, former Bears seamers Richard Jones and George Panayi took two wickets apiece for Ombersley as they defeated last season’s Graham Williamson Trophy winners Barnt Green. Wicketkeeper Amrinder Brar (94) scored the bulk of the runs for Barnt Green.

Leamington lost heavilly to Knowle & Dorridge with a stand-out performance from Warwickshire Academy batter Hamza Sheikh (48). Current Bears Ethan Brookes (36) and Henry Brookes (3-24) starred for K&D and Jonathan Wigley (5-51) for Leamington.

Andy Umeed (115) top scored for Moseley as they defeated Shrewsbury by 87 runs, whith George Garrett taking 2-47 for Shrewsbury. Reigning champions Berkswell defeated Walsall by 44 runs. Awais Mohammed, who has featured for the Bears’ EPP, scored 96 for Berkswell supported by a mixture of past and present Bears, Grant Thornton (48), Tom Milnes (4-36) and Ryan Sidebottom (2-35). Jordan Bulpitt took 5-44 for Walsall.

Elsewhere, Kidderminster defeated West Bromwich Dartmouth by one wicket in a close game, former Bear, Shozair Ali, scoring 89 for Dartmouth, while Smethwick 247/8 lost to Shifnal 248/3 by seven wickets.

In Division Two, Ashish Chakrapani from the Edgbaston Academy continued his good form with 83 for Dorridge as they defeated Pelsall by two runs. Bromsgrove defeated Wolverhampton by 56 runs,  Jayden Levitt scoring a magnificent unbeaten 152.

Halesowen defeated Barnards Green in a low scoring match while Kenilworth Wardens beat Himley by six wickets thanks to Ali Zaryab Asif 122 not out. Oswestry lost to Bridgnorth by five runs in a game dominated by the batters, David Exhall scoring 158* for Bridgnorth and Warrick Fynn 173 for Oswestry.

Wem beat Harborne mainly thanks to Matthew Cohen 64 and Tom Astley 4-24.
