The next meeting of the Midland Branch Cricket Society takes place on Tuesday 24 October when the guest will be Paul Nixon, the former Leicestershire, Kent and England Wicketkeeper.

Nixon enjoyed a 23-year career in the domestic game, where he won two County Championships and three T20 Cups with Leicestershire.

He made his international debut at the surprisingly late age of 36 in England’s International T20 against Australia in the 2006/07 tour. Selection followed for the One Day International triangular series against Australia and New Zealand and he was a key part of the subsequent ICC Cricket World Cup in the West Indies, winning 19 ODI caps in total.

The meeting which will be held at Edgbaston starts at 8pm.
