We spoke with Academy graduate and England Under 19s batsman Dan Mousley after he penned a three-year contract extension, which secures his future at Edgbaston until at least the end of the 2023 season.

“I remember Farby phoning me and I wasn’t too sure why he was phoning me,” said Mousley. “When he told me the news I was really chuffed with that.

“I’m just excited to get going,” added the 19-year-old. “With it being a shortened season it was a bit of taster to play first-class cricket and I loved it.

“Hopefully, coming into this year, I can get the opportunity again to play with the lads and perform in the first-team. With a good, young squad, which we have, it’s then to go and win trophies and I want to be a part of that at Warwickshire.

“I’ve been a Warwickshire fan ever since I started playing the game so to see us win trophies in 50-over, County Championship cricket and T20 Blast like a few years ago I want to do that with the club.

“Hopefully, starting the 2021 season, we can really push for that, and, as a young group, we’re only going to get better. I’m looking forward to the new season.”
