Danny Briggs is to have knee surgery next month.
The 31-year-old experienced pain in his right knee during the season, which eased following an injection. But after a period of rest, the cartilage within the knee has caused more discomfort following Danny’s return to pre-season.
His operation will rule the spinner out of the International League T20, where he was due to play for Sharjah Warriors in January.
Recovery time for the operation can vary, although Danny is expected to be ready for early March ahead of our pre-season preparations.
“It’s disappointing for Danny as we know how much he was looking forward to testing his skills in the UAE,” said First Team Coach Mark Robinson.
“After plenty of discussion with Danny and our physio Mozzy (Gerhard Mostert), we believe this is the best course of action ahead of next season.
“Danny is a valuable member of the squad, who brings leadership on and off field, so we’re looking forward to seeing him return as soon as possible.”
