Bears and Pears will unite in support of Olly Hannon-Dalby’s Testimonial on Friday (12 July) as the Vitality Blast derby aims to raise more money for his benefit year charities.

The Warwickshire talisman – who’s taken 482 wickets in 206 Bears games – was granted a Testimonial in recognition of his commitment to the Club over the last decade.

He’s raising money for Cure Leukaemia and the Professional Cricketers’ Trust – which helps former players in times of hardship – through a series of events across 2024.

And on Friday supporters of both clubs will be encouraged to support Olly by donating to his chosen charities via a dedicated text and QR code service.

To donate £5 text OLIVER24 to 70970 or to donate £20 text OLIVER24 to 70191 or visit easydonate.org/OLIVER24 to donate any other amounts.

“These two charities do amazing work and are very close to my heart,” said the 35-year-old. “It’ll be a special moment for me at the end of the year to present them with money from my Testimonial fundraising.

“Derby day in the Blast is always an amazing occasion at Edgbaston and there will be around 13,000 people here on Sunday.

“There’s a great rivalry between the clubs but also a great deal of friendships between the players and supporters. I’d be hugely grateful if fans of both sides could spare a few pounds on the night.”

Olly’s Testimonial continues on 25 July with a sold out Pre-Test Match Dinner at the Hyatt Hotel, Birmingham, followed by a Belfry Golf Day (30 July) and Edgbaston Celebrity Golf Day (14 Oct).
