Edgbaston Stadium has confirmed sell outs for the opening two days of England’s Test match with the West Indies, which begins on Friday 12 June 2020.

The Birmingham venue has seen demand for the second Test of the three-match series grow by 140 per cent compared with sales at this time of year for the last time West Indies visited in 2017, and it expects tickets for the third day to also sell out later this month with only eight per cent of capacity remaining.

It’s fantastic to see that cricket is thriving in the West Midlands.

These remaining seats for Day 3 (Sunday) are priced from £31 for adults and £6 for under 16s and are available at Edgbaston.com or via the Ticket Hotline on 0121 369 1994, but please note that prices will increase from 1 February. More tickets remain available on Day 4.

Alex Perkins, Head of Commercial at Edgbaston Stadium, said: “It’s fantastic to see that cricket is thriving in the West Midlands in reaction to last year’s incredible summer for the game, which saw the England men’s team crowned ICC Cricket World Cup champions for the first time and a drawn Ashes series.

“As a result, we implemented a ticket ballot for the first time for our seven-day programme of major match cricket, which received more entries than we originally anticipated and required us to boost capacity by a further 850 seats by building another (temporary) tier of seats above the Stanley Barnes Stand.”

Edgbaston’s seven-day programme of major match cricket in 2019 also sees the venue host Ireland for the first time in a One-Day International versus world champions England on Saturday 12 September and Finals Day of the Vitality Blast a week earlier on Saturday 5 September, which sold out in record time before the end of 2019.
