Warwickshire is encouraging cricketers to trade old kit for new at the biggest cricket equipment event ever held at Edgbaston – with donated pre-owned kit being distributed to good causes across the county.
The Club has teamed up with cricket brands Gunn & Moore (GM) and Masuri for the event on Thursday 4 April (3-7pm) at the Edgbaston Cricket Centre.
Individuals, cricket clubs and school teams are invited to attend and try out a selection of bats, helmets and other kit in the centre’s indoor nets.
There will also be an opportunity for visitors to test the new kit (and themselves) against Edgbaston’s bowling machines which can be set to anything from spin to 90mph.
New equipment will be heavily discounted for anyone trading in pre-owned equipment which the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation charity will then recycle and distribute to community and sports groups.
Edgbaston Head of Supporter Services Dan Clarke, said: “It’s an equipment test day to showcase and trial the latest range of bats and equipment from GM and Masuri. In essence, visitors can ‘try before you buy’ in our professional nets to work out what items feel best for them.
“Masuri will also have head scanners for custom-fit helmets and specialist staff on hand to help players make the best kit choices for them.
“We’ve not held an event like this for 10 years. We hope lots of players will take advantage of the very substantial part-exchanges on offer for anyone donating old kit that we can then put to good use elsewhere.”
Visitors can park on site at Edgbaston and there is no need to register in advance.
