The wait is nearly over: Bears Women's debut in the Women’s Metro Bank One Day Cup is just one month away.
Anticipation is building as Ali Maiden’s team take centre stage at Edgbaston on Wednesday 23 April when they will face Hampshire Women in their first ever professional game.
The 50-over competition, previously known as the Rachael Heyhoe-Flint trophy will see all eight Tier One teams (Warwickshire, Hampshire, Somerset, Essex, Surrey, Lancashire, The Blaze, Durham) compete over the duration of the season for a spot in the final.
It’s another milestone moment in the Women’s professional game.
“We are beyond excited to step out onto the field and show all the hard work that the squad have put in over the winter,” said Laura MacLeod, Bears Women Head of High Performance.
“We have a young squad, with majority of the squad having played a large volume of cricket, some up and coming talents that balance with a proportion of the squad having competed to the highest level, representing England and in The Hundred. We believe this will give us a great opportunity to play an exciting brand of cricket.”
Tickets for this fixture will be on-sale from 8 April, but fans can register their interest for tickets by filling in the form below.
