The countdown to the 2025 cricket season is officially underway after fixtures for the Rothesay County Championship and men’s and women’s Metro Bank One Day Cup were released.
Warwickshire will start their 2025 red ball campaign on Friday 4 April at Edgbaston against Sussex, followed by trips to Durham starting on 11 April and at home to Nottinghamshire (18 April) later in the month.
And Bears Women will make their competitive debut on 23 April at Edgbaston with the first of 14 matches in the women’s One Day Cup.
Ali Maiden’s side travel to Essex on 27 April and return to Edgbaston three days later as they look to make a strong start to their first season wearing the Bear & Ragged Staff.

Bears men start their One Day Cup bid at Yorkshire on Tuesday 5 August before returning to Rugby School for three 50-over matches in the space of six days.
The Rugby Cricket Festival will feature games against Northamptonshire Steelbacks (10 Aug), Kent Spitfires (13 Aug) and Middlesex (15 Aug). Members will be required to claim tickets again.
Warwickshire Performance Director Gavin Larsen, said: “Rugby School were the perfect hosts last summer. The facilities and ground were top quality and thousands of fans attended the three games.
“There was a great atmosphere, a real community occasion, and they got to see some thrilling cricket.
“It made complete sense for us to return and I’m sure it’ll be another huge success.
“All eyes now turn to Edgbaston on 4 April when our season gets underway. It’s only four-and-a-half months away and before we know it the players will be walking out in front of our Members to start our 2025 season.”
Laura MacLeod, Head of High Performance, Bears Women, added: “Our players will be creating history on 23 April when they play their first ever game as a fully professional Bears Women side.
“It’s a real honour, and only fitting, that their first competitive match will take place at their new home, Edgbaston, and that the players will be walking out of their new high performance area and dressing rooms onto the pitch. We’re already counting down the days.”
Eight rounds of the Rothesay County Championship will be played in April and May.
The two rounds at the end of June and two rounds at the end of July will see Kookaburra balls used, before three rounds in September to finish the domestic summer.
Bears Women conclude their One Day Cup group at Somerset on 13 September and will hope to have booked a semi-final spot on 17 September. The women’s final takes place on 21 September at the Utilita Bowl, Southampton.
Quarter finals and semi-finals of the men’s One Day Cup take place on 28 and 31 August, respectively, followed by the final at Trent Bridge on Sunday 20 September.
Fixtures for the Vitality Blast and new Vitality T20 Women’s County Cup were released last week.
