Birmingham Phoenix have announced their first wave of domestic signings for The Hundred, with Warwickshire captain Marie Kelly the stand-out name on the list.

Kelly is joined by two of her Warwickshire teammates in Isabelle Wong and Ria Fackrell, as well as Lancashire opening batter Eve Jones.

The four join Amy Jones, Kirstie Gordon, Georgia Elwiss and Sophie Devine in their team’s squad, with Phoenix still to announce two overseas players and the remainder of their domestic players.

Kelly said: “It’s a big honour to be playing for Birmingham Phoenix in the first year of The Hundred.

“It means a lot to me to captain Warwickshire and I’m happy that we’ve been able to retain those local links, with Issy and Ria also signing. We know that Eve’s a really good competitor, as well, so she’ll be a big asset to the team.

“It’s going to be a really exciting tournament and hopefully it will be another big step forward for the women’s game.”

The Hundred women’s competition kicks off on 22 July, with the men’s competition getting underway a week earlier on 17 July.
