Cool, calm and collected. Grant Elliott seems to thrive on high pressure situations. In recent years Elliott has transformed himself into an all-rounder who can provide pivotal contributions with both bat and ball. In this article we look at four times when Grant Elliott stole the show with some incredible match winning performances.

#1 Hits the winning six in the ICC World Cup Semi-Final 2015

This is probably the shot that was heard around the world… certainly around the ICC World Cup in 2015 at least. With five needed off two balls, Elliott pulled South Africa’s most fear fast bowler, Dale Steyn high over mid-on to ensure New Zealand’s adventure would stretch all the way to the Final. The crowd at Eden Park erupted, check out this incredible video from the stand to see exactly what we mean!

#2 Fires 52 from 22 balls for Wellington

In January 2017 Elliott was playing for the Wellington Firebirds in the McDonalds Super Smash with fellow Bear Jeetan Patel and former Bear Luke Ronchi. The Firebirds ended up going all the way to the final and winning the tournament, though with destructive batting spells like this from Grant Elliott, its not hard to see why.

#3 Grant Elliott takes 4-32 Lahore Qalandars

In February 2017, Grant Elliott was stealing the headlines again as he bowled a match-winning spell to help Lahore Qalandars beat Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League. This kind of performance show that Elliott is also a great bowler and a real all-rounder in limited over cricket.

#4 Win Match, Drop Bat. Over and Out.

Two years after his match-winning six against South Africa in a famous World Cup win at Eden Park, Grant Elliott once again held his nerve batting in the finals over for the Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League in Sharjah. With the Qalandars needed 6 runs from 5 balls, it only took the Hairy Javelin one ball to win the game… no big deal really.
