India, a powerhouse of world cricket, will be taking over the city in July for two huge games that will have eyes from around the world glued to the events happening at Edgbaston.
To celebrate the start of the Indian summer year, Edgbaston has launched its Giant of Cricket campaign with artwork of some of India’s stars portrayed across iconic Birmingham landmarks.
Rohit Sharma’s side will take on Ben Stokes’ men for the second Test of the much anticipated five-Test series, start on Wednesday 2 July.
When the two teams last met in Birmingham it was a match for the ages as centuries from Joe Root – England’s all-time leading run scorer – and Jonny Bairstow completed their highest ever successful chase in Test cricket.
Now, an India side ranked number three in the world and contain household names such as Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, will take on the number four ranked England.
Tickets for the first four days are sold out following unprecedented demand, while limited VIP Experiences and Premium Tickets are still available.
A week later, India Women will be in town for their first ever bilateral series match against England at Edgbaston, on Saturday 12 July.
Two of the world’s top teams, with stars such as Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur, will go head-to-head in the final match of the series, with potentially the trophy up for grabs.
