Pace bowler Hassan Ali will return to the international fold, having been selected for Pakistan’s Test squad ahead of their two-match away series against Sri Lanka next month.

Initially signed for the full Vitality Blast campaign, including any potential knockout games, and the LV= Insurance County Championship until the end of July, the 28-year-old will now link up with his national side in Karachi on 3 July for a camp ahead of their departure for Sri Lanka on 9 July.

Hassan, who has taken a combined 24 wickets in five LV= Insurance County Championship matches and two Vitality Blast fixtures, is expected to be available in all formats up until his departure.

“Hassan has been a fantastic addition and it comes as no surprise to see him receive international recognition following his impressive performances this summer,” said Performance Director Gavin Larsen.

“Hassan is an incredibly popular member of the changing room, who brings a wealth of knowledge and personality to the group.

“Whist we’re naturally disappointed to lose him slightly earlier than planned, we’re excited to see his remaining performances with the Bears, especially as we know how eager he is to finish his time with the Club on a high.”
